The employers featured on this website believe that investing in young people is crucial to bottom line business success and that supporting their local community is part of their responsibilities as local businesses. Young people bring the new talent and ideas that can revitalise the workforce and underpin future staffing plans. The programmes on this site give support to employers in achieving this.

2. Why has the futureworkforce website been set up?

The site is designed to make it easy for employers to find out about the range of programmes that are available to support the training, recruitment and development of young people. The site has been created by a collaboration of the Learning and Skills Council Sussex, the Brighton and Hove Learning Partnership and the Sussex Council of Training Providers.

3. What is the best way to use this website?

From the Home Page, choose an option from the five bars at the centre of the home page that best matches your business needs e.g. 'Find New Staff' or 'Link with Local Education'. Click on your selected option. A list of programmes appears that could be of benefit to your business. Read the brief description and choose a programme option that interests you. A page appears that gives details of the programme including employer and young person benefits. Further pages can then be accessed that give further information ('details' page) and contact details if you wish to get involved ('next steps' page).

4. How much does it cost to get involved?

Each programme will differ as to the cost but many are absolutley free apart from the commitment of a little time. Each programme has cost information on its 'details' page.

The age group and experience of available young people varies by programmes and ranges from under graduates who can input into improving your business to young people still at school on work experience. This varies by programme - some are open access all year round, some term time only, some September start only. The pages on each individual programme lead to a 'details' page which gives information on the timescales involved.
