Eligibility

Young People
Graduates with specific knowledge, and interest in, project subject.
Willingness to study for general management NVQ qualification.

Companies
Company eligibility depends on the project. The funding sources are from a range of sponsors and primarily aimed at SMEs, to aid development and economic growth. However, corporate companies can be eligible too including NHS and local authorities. Please feel free to discuss possibilities!

Timescales

Once a project has been approved from the National Committee (the process from initial idea to approval can take up to 3 months) the Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate (graduate) needs to be recruited before the project can start.

Commitments

The employer is committed
• to part fund the project
• to supervise the graduate at their place of work
• to sign a joint commitment statement
• to agree intellectual property rights (if applicable)

Costs

Each project is individually costed under the full economic costing method. On average a 2 year project will cost a total of £48,000, but the grant funding from the DTI is over 60% for Small to Medium Sized businesses (less than 250 employees) and 50% for eligible corporate employers.
