All employers are eligible to take part as long as their opportunities relate to and are suitable for, the courses that students are studying.

Virtually all students on UOB degree courses are eligible.

Timescales

Placements usually start in the Summer each year. Interested employers should contact the University well in advance of this date.

Commitments

• To employ the student on a fixed term contract of employment.
• To comply with all relevant, current legislation.
• To support the student with a rewarding and valuable learning experience.
• To work with University staff and feedback on student progress.
• To allow University staff to visit the workplace to carry out reviews of student progress – including input from company staff.

Costs

There is no charge made by the University.
Employers will need to pay their placement student at a rate agreed with the student as part of the contract of employment.

Progression Routes

The student placement can lead to the subsequent recruitment of the student by the employer when the student has finished their degree.
