| Eligibility
Young people who are still in their last 2 years at school or who are at a 6th Form or Further Education College can be included
Timescales
Work experience activities usually take place in term time ie not summer, Christmas or Easter holidays.
Commitments
All employers taking part in work experience programmes need to:
- have valid employer’s liability insurance
- have undertaken and passed a heath & safety check
- be prepared to offer appropriate supervision
- be prepared to offer a range of activities for young people that will make the experience useful and rewarding for both employer and young person

Costs
There are no costs to the employer other than the cost in staff time.
Progression Routes
It is hoped that the experiences that young people acquire through work experience activities will better prepare them for work by emphasising the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours that are associated with success in the workplace. For employers it might be hoped that school and college leavers will be more ready for the world of work and that the employer may find ready-made recruits from these activities.
