| Eligibility
Young Apprenticeships are only available in some occupations and at some schools in the City. Any young person in their last 2 years at a participating school who is keen and able to be put forward by their school as potentially benefiting from a Level 2 work-related programme
Timescales
Typically employers would take a young person for work experience one day per week during term time over 2 years. This pattern may vary and employers should check with the contacts in the next steps section.
Commitments
- Employers are expected to provide a safe and healthy work environment and undergo a checking process to demonstrate this
- Employers are expected to ensure that the young person is adequately supervised
- Employers are expected to ensure that meaningful activities are available for the young person that will contribute to their learning and development

Costs
There is no charge involved.

Progression Routes
For the employer - involvement in the programme can lead to employing the young person when he or she leaves school or at some date in the future
For the young person – involvement in the programme can lead to an Apprenticeship, further education at college or 6th Form and a route into meaningful employment
